Barry

Senior Creative Director and Master Colour Director

One of East Anglia’s most creative and influential hairdressers, Barry is the salon owner and creative director of the company.

He has 25 years experience and has covered every aspect of the business, from the salon floor to teaching and working on shows and shoots.

He earned his International Masters Diploma in Hair Cutting at the Sassoon Academy in London and is a Master Colour Expert. He is the salon educator and constantly shares his knowledge with the team.

After being awarded silver in the International Trend vision Competition he was invited back to judge the following year.

Kelly

Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director

Kelly began her career with Barry Alan in 2005 when she joined as an apprentice. She trained to specialise in hair cutting and colouring.

During her 16 years in the Salon Kelly has built a loyal client base and worked her way to a Level 4 Stylist / Senior Colour Technician.

She has attended Sassoon Cutting Courses, worked on photo shoots – creating hair ups for the likes of Norfolk Magazine and specialises in precision cutting and colouring, making Kelly a very experienced member of the team.

Kelly now has two lovely young boys and works with us on a Saturday.

Leon

Salon Manager- Creative Cutter Level 4 and Master Colour Director

Leon qualified in hairdressing in 2006 and has been with us since 2011. He is a Master Colour Expert and a Level 4 Stylist.

He has attended Sassoon Academy cutting and colouring courses and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the team.
He is our salon manager and helps Barry keep the salon to a high standard of customer service.

Inspiration – Art, architecture, fashion.

Tip – ‘Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who has said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and common sense.’

Katherine (Kat)

Creative Cutter Level 5 and Master Colour Expert

Kat qualified in 2012 and has been with us three years. She lived in London, which saw her become an expert at styling hair and big blow dries that last. Since being with us she has attended several courses with Sassoons and one specialist colouring course in blonde hair, including advanced bleaching techniques.

She is highly skilled with her colouring and hair cutting and now shares her vast knowledge in our in house Tuesday training sessions with our three apprentices. Kat has worked on photo shoots and was part of the 2015 Brit Awards opening sequence.

Katherine is highly motivated and has a regular client base who come back and see her regularly. We cant wait for her to complete her Master Colour Expert degree later this year.

Frankie

Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director

After Frank completed his apprenticeship with us he has been on the salon floor for four years and  has achieved great things both with Wella and Sassoons whilst working to build a loyal client base. He is very passionate about hair cutting and people love his personality and smiley face.

"I do a lot of creative and bespoke haircuts which suit the individual client, in a manner which is easy for them to do themselves and to make them look their personal best. These days people watch Youtube and its all about styling the hair for a night out but with a professional hair cut which is made for you it should speak for itself and give you the confidence to be your self"

Lucy

Creative Cutter Level 3 and Level 2 Colour Director

Lucy joined us Christmas 2019 after being at another city salon for three years. Since joining us she is quickly building a loyal client base as she is awesome at colour and haircuts especially after having been on two Sassoon Academy courses.
Specialising in colouring blonde hair and haircutting techniques.

The future looks bright for Lucy and you will love her. She works with us full time and has Wednesday’s off.

Amy

Creative Cutter Level 1 and Level 2 Colour Director

Amy has been Hairdressing for 12 years and was originally trained at Toni and Guy. She has attended numerous Colour courses over the years and specialises in Balayage placement and Colouring.  In October 2019 Amy had a little girl called Freya and  she works with us on a Thursday and Saturday and every other Monday. Since joining us in March 2020 Amy's existing clients have found her again and her client base is growing quickly. She is joining in on in-house training to gain some new haircutting techniques and actively helps the rest of the team with their Balayage techniques. 

Amy is a real perfectionist and is a lovely fun personality to have around.

Sarah

Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director

Sarah has just joined our team this October 2020. She has been Hairdressing for 22 years and she feels it is the perfect job for her as she is extremely chatty and particularly loves colouring hair as it helps reflect peoples personalities. Sarah has bought a client base with her from another salon in Norwich but is also happy to take on new clients. 

If you are looking for a Bubbly and friendly hairdresser Sarah will tick all of the boxes.

 

Jess

Creative Cutter Level 2 and Level 2 Colour Director

Jess has joined us in March 2022 and it has already felt like she’s always been here fitting into the team perfectly.

She qualified in 2015 at Alan D Academy where she became a student ambassador which allowed her to take part in London Shows which she loved and hopes to do more in the future.

Jess specialises in Beauty Works Hair Extensions and offers Nano extensions and stick tip applications following an in-depth consultation listening and advising to get the best results.

She is excited to be attending a cutting course in July at the Sassoon Academy in London to develop her career and push herself forward.

Jess is very passionate about all aspects of her hairdressing including haircutting, colouring and wedding hair which can be done both at the salon and at the wedding venue if needed.

Leah

Level 1 Creative Cutter and Level 2 Colour Director

Leah has completed her full time apprenticeship with us over the last two years and has had a lot of one to one training with Barry. She has attended the Sassoon Academy in London doing an ABC cutting course. Leah is looking forward to doing the next course there in April . She has a natural flair for hairdressing and is professional and very kind.

Leah also offers perms in salon by consultation only.

Lauren

Level 1 Creative Cutter and Level 1 Colour Director

Lauren has always had a passion for doing hair in her spare time for friends and family. In 2020, she made the decision to retrain and pursue a career in the hair industry and completed an evening course to qualify for a Level 3 VRQ in hairdressing. 2022 Lauren is now on the salon floor building her clientele and attends Wednesday’s in-house training with Barry to add to her skill set.

Kathy

Level 1 Creative Cutter and Level 1 Colour Director

Kathy came to us in July 2021 having retrained as a hairdresser and completed her Level 3 NVQ. She arrived passionate to learn and work her way up the Vidal Sassoon & Wella Colour Stylist levels.

Kathy brings a unique combination of wellbeing, empowerment and creativity to the salon floor. She comes to us following a 15-year career as a clinical therapist specialising in Women’s Health and cancer care, as well as organising large-scale events celebrating women over 40. Before this she worked as a live music photographer and BBC music interviewer/producer.

Kathy works with us on Mondays and Wednesdays and has been seeing clients since Dec 2021. She joins our weekly in-house training and by her own admission is obsessed with learning all she can.

“2022 is all about working hard to reach Level 2 as both a Creative Cutter and Colour Director - with a view to doing my Wella Master Colour Expert Degree in 2023. I know it’s aiming high but the more skilled I become, the more I options I can offer: My ultimate goal is for you to be excited about your appointment, to have a positive salon experience and to leave feeling confident, 100% ‘You’ and fully embracing the things that make you unique.”

Beth’s history is in the beauty industry where she owned her own business. She is committed to pushing the brand forward through using all the social media platforms. Beth has now started writing monthly Blogs for our website and Newsletters to our email subscribers.

She also organises Wedding hair packages for us to come out to you on your special day.
