Barry
Senior Creative Director and Master Colour Director
One of East Anglia’s most creative and influential hairdressers, Barry is the salon owner and creative director of the company.
He has 25 years experience and has covered every aspect of the business, from the salon floor to teaching and working on shows and shoots.
He earned his International Masters Diploma in Hair Cutting at the Sassoon Academy in London and is a Master Colour Expert. He is the Salon Educator along with Claudia and more recently training Lauren to join them they offer once weekly sessions with our junior team and once a month Barry holds advanced cutting technique classes with our senior team. Because of his passion for education Barry decided to open Norfolks first Hair Academy back in February 2025 for already qualified hairdressers from outside of our salon to do one day haircutting or colouring courses to gain more confidence and enhance their skill set in an ever changing industry. It has been a huge success already and some students have visited multiple times. Please see our Academy page for more information on this.
After being awarded silver in the International Trend vision Competition he was invited back to judge the following year.

Kelly
Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director
Kelly began her career with Barry Alan in 2005 when she joined as an apprentice. She trained to specialise in hair cutting and colouring.
During her 20 years in the Salon Kelly has built a loyal client base and worked her way to a Level 4 Stylist / Senior Colour Technician.
She has attended Sassoon Cutting Courses, worked on photo shoots – creating hair ups for the likes of Norfolk Magazine and specialises in precision cutting and colouring, making Kelly a very experienced member of the team.
Kelly now has three lovely young boys and works with us on Monday’s currently 10-2 while her newest addition needs her time.
Inspiration – Fashion and analysing new and current trends.
Tip – ‘Observation is the art of listening with “both” ears.’
Leon
Salon Manager- Creative Cutter Level 4 and Master Colour Director
Leon qualified in hairdressing in 2006 and has been with us since 2011. He is a Master Colour Expert and a Level 4 Stylist.
He has attended Sassoon Academy cutting and colouring courses and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the team.
He is our salon manager and helps Barry keep the salon to a high standard of customer service.

Tip – ‘Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who has said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and common sense.’
Katherine (Kat)
Creative Cutter Level 5 and Master Colour Expert
Kat qualified in 2012 and has been with us for 8 years. She lived in London, which saw her become an expert at styling hair and big blow dries that last. Since being with us she has attended several courses with Sassoons and one specialist colouring course in blonde hair, including advanced bleaching techniques.
Katherine is highly skilled with her hair cutting and through the years with us has gained several promotions now reaching a level 5! Also working on her own initiative and in her own time Kat has become a Wella Master Colour Expert (a degree in Colour). Kat has worked on photo shoots with us and was part of the 2015 Brit Awards opening sequence.
Katherine is highly motivated and has a big regular client base. Working Tuesday’s, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in salon.

Claudia
Creative Cutter Level 5 And Master Colour Director
Claudia started in the hair industry in 2001 doing an apprenticeship in Cape Town in South Africa
Once she arrived in England Claudia attended colour and cutting courses with The Sassoon Academy in London.
Cutting and colouring courses with Allilon. Including freehand balayage and becoming a Balayage expert with Davines.
Including 3D colouring (balayage , air touch and freehand) courses with Sal Misseri for Kaizen education. Also working backstage with Sal Misseri.
Became a Master Colour Expert with Davines.
Claudia has worked as part of the backstage team doing colour preparation for Allilon shows too!
Since being in England Claudia has done haircuts on models on stage twice, for Artero hair equipment , at salon international as a guest artist.
In February 2025 Claudia helped Barry fulfill his lifelong dream of opening up a Hair Academy for Qualified Hairdressers where they both love teaching hairdressers from all over East Anglia and beyond. Each course offers Theory, Live demonstrations by them and a live model workshop for the students to work on with their guidance. Claudia also offers weekly training for our junior team members alongside running a very busy client schedule. She has such a huge positive impact on all of our team and we are very grateful. Wednesday’s is Claudia’s day off.

Frank
Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director
After Frank completed his apprenticeship with us he has been on the salon floor for 10 years and has achieved great things both with Wella and Sassoons whilst working to build a loyal client base. He is very passionate about hair cutting and people love his personality and smiley face.
“I do a lot of creative and bespoke haircuts which suit the individual client, in a manner which is easy for them to do themselves and to make them look their personal best. These days people watch Youtube and its all about styling the hair for a night out but with a professional hair cut which is made for you it should speak for itself and give you the confidence to be your self”.

Lucy
Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director
Lucy joined us Christmas 2019 after being at another city salon for three years. Since joining us she has a built a very big loyal client base as she is awesome at colour and haircuts especially after having been on two Sassoon Academy courses and monthly advanced Cutting courses in salon with Barry where she has gained promotions in salon.
Lucy is a great team member and loves to help. Most recently taking on the role of mentoring our assistants in their roles as salon helpers.
Specialising in Crazy Colours.
The future looks bright for Lucy and you will love her. She works with us full time and has Monday’s off.

Amy
Creative Cutter Level 2 and Level 2 Colour Director
Amy has been Hairdressing for 15 years and was originally trained at Toni and Guy. She has attended numerous Colour courses over the years and specialises in Balayage placement and Colouring. In October 2019 Amy had a little girl called Freya and in 2022 she had a little boy called Odi.
Since joining us in March 2020 Amy’s existing clients have found her and she’s built a strong new client base over her time here, she actively helps the rest of the team with their Balayage and lived in colour techniques and shares her knowledge.
Amy works Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Amy is a real perfectionist and is a lovely fun personality to have around.

Lauren
Level 4 Creative Cutter and Level 2 Colour Director
Lauren has always had a passion for doing hair in her spare time for friends and family. In 2020, she made the decision to retrain and pursue a career in the hair industry and completed an evening course to qualify for a Level 3 VRQ in hairdressing.
In 2022 Lauren went on the salon floor to start building her client base. Four years later Lauren is flying high with a big customer base and being promoted to a level 4 haircutter after attending two Haircutting courses at Sassoon Academy in London and attending Barry’s advanced cutting classes monthly. Lauren is a fabulous cutter and loves colour correcting and making you look and feel your personal base.
As Lauren has advanced in her skills and knowledge Barry is now training her to become a salon Educator to join Claudia and Barry in training our junior team members in our academy and will be demoing at our next haircutting course. We are very excited for Lauren’s future with us.

Evie
Creative Cutter Level 3 and Level 2 Colour Director
Evie joined us in 2021 as our assistant while she was completing her training at College. She qualified in June 2022 and loves highlighting and balayage in particular.
Evie trained on the ABC cutting course in January 2023 at Sassoons and has been working on the salon floor to build her client base.

Evie absolutely loves Balayage and lived in colour so Barry and Claudia have invited her to join them in the Academy teaching alongside Claudia in our Balayage day courses.
Evie is a valued member of Barry Alan who always works as a team and wanting the best for her clients which has gained her promotions in salon too.

Leann
Creative Cutter Level 3 and Level 2 Colour Director
Leann has 8 years experience as a hairdresser doing Haircutting and Colouring. She specialises in Vintage Hair ups and Wedding Hair. Perfect for a special event either working at the salon or she can travel to your venue. Please email for more information and bookings.
With Leann’s flair and specialism in bouncy Blowdries and hair ups she has joined our Education team in the Academy. Offering day courses in Hair Ups and Blowdrying techniques to qualified hairdressers.
Working full time with Thursdays off and every other Saturday.
Inspiration – 40s and 50s, vintage fashion, colour, music and film.
Tip – To feel motivation, you have to get motivated! & Believe in yourself and never give up.
Dulcie
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
Dulcie joined our team in 2023 and after qualifying at college she has spent a year training in house with Barry and the rest of the team growing her knowledge and skills in both haircutting and colouring.
At the end of November 2024 Dulcie attended a weeks haircutting training in London at the Sassoon Academy. She offers Haircuts, Colours and Blowdries and 15% off colour for students. Working full time Dulcie has Tuesdays off and is busy building a loyal clientele.

Frankie
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
Frankie joined us in 2023 and after qualifying at college she has spent a year training in house with Barry and the rest of the team growing her knowledge and skills in both haircutting and colouring.
She is very much looking forward to the end of November 2024 when she will be attending a weeks haircutting training in London at the Sassoon Academy. Frankie is now on the salon floor growing her own customer base.

Jessica
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
Jess joined our salon in the spring of 2025 after doing a three year apprenticeship in another salon. Gaining a distinction!
She is very kind and thorough in her work.. always wanting the best finish.
Offering Haircuts and Colours. Student discounts too Monday- Friday for Haircuts and Colouring services.
Jess wants to constantly learn new skills and attends Claudia’s in house weekly training sessions both in Cutting and Colouring.
Jess works full time with Wednesdays as her day off.

Klaudia
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
joined us at the start of the year as an assistant while finishing her level 3 qualification at college. She has attended our in-house training sessions with Claudia and has grown in confidence and knowledge. She is now on the salon floor offering ladies haircuts, student haircuts, Blowdries, highlights/ lowlights and full head colour/ root colour.
Klaudia works with us on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and would love to make your hair feel wonderful!

Milly
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
Milly joined us in the Autumn 2025 she is working hard towards her level 3 and should be completing this Summer 2026. Joining weekly training in both cutting and colouring with Claudia in house and she is very excited to be going to her first Sassoon Academy course in August.
Milly is bubbley, friendly, professional and a dedicated member of our team. She is currently offering Haircuts / Blowdries/ Full head colour/ Root colour to clients on Friday afternoons 1-6 and all day on Saturdays. She can’t wait to meet you!
Faith
Creative Cutter Level 2 And Level 1 Colour Director
Faith joined us in the Summer of 2024 after qualifying in hairdressing at college.
Faith is starting on her journey with ongoing training to learn new skills both in colouring and haircutting and looking forward to attending a week haircutting course at the Sassoon Academy in London at the end of November 2024.
We are looking forward to watching Faiths journey in her chosen career.

Beth
Social media and Marketing Manager
Beth is our PR and social media manager.
Beth’s history is in the beauty industry where she owned her own business. She is committed to pushing the brand forward through using all the social media platforms. Beth has now started writing monthly Blogs for our website and Newsletters to our email subscribers.
She also organises Wedding hair packages for us to come out to you on your special day.
