Barry
Senior Creative Director and Master Colour Director
One of East Anglia’s most creative and influential hairdressers, Barry is the salon owner and creative director of the company.
He has 25 years experience and has covered every aspect of the business, from the salon floor to teaching and working on shows and shoots.
He earned his International Masters Diploma in Hair Cutting at the Sassoon Academy in London and is a Master Colour Expert. He is the salon educator and constantly shares his knowledge with the team.
After being awarded silver in the International Trend vision Competition he was invited back to judge the following year.

Kelly
Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director
Kelly began her career with Barry Alan in 2005 when she joined as an apprentice. She trained to specialise in hair cutting and colouring.
During her 19 years in the Salon Kelly has built a loyal client base and worked her way to a Level 4 Stylist / Senior Colour Technician.
She has attended Sassoon Cutting Courses, worked on photo shoots – creating hair ups for the likes of Norfolk Magazine and specialises in precision cutting and colouring, making Kelly a very experienced member of the team.
Kelly now has two lovely young boys and works with us Monday – Friday, 10 – 2.
Inspiration – Fashion and analysing new and current trends.
Tip – ‘Observation is the art of listening with “both” ears.’
Leon
Salon Manager- Creative Cutter Level 4 and Master Colour Director
Leon qualified in hairdressing in 2006 and has been with us since 2011. He is a Master Colour Expert and a Level 4 Stylist.
He has attended Sassoon Academy cutting and colouring courses and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the team.
He is our salon manager and helps Barry keep the salon to a high standard of customer service.
Inspiration – Art, architecture, fashion.
Tip – ‘Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who has said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and common sense.’
Katherine (Kat)
Creative Cutter Level 5 and Master Colour Expert
Kat qualified in 2012 and has been with us for 8 years. She lived in London, which saw her become an expert at styling hair and big blow dries that last. Since being with us she has attended several courses with Sassoons and one specialist colouring course in blonde hair, including advanced bleaching techniques.
Katherine is highly skilled with her hair cutting and through the years with us has gained several promotions now reaching a level 5! Also working on her own initiative and in her own time Kat has become a Wella Master Colour Expert (a degree in Colour). Kat has worked on photo shoots with us and was part of the 2015 Brit Awards opening sequence.
Katherine is highly motivated and has a big regular client base.

Claudia
Creative Cutter Level 4 And Master Colour Director
Claudia started in the hair industry in 2001 doing an apprenticeship in Cape Town in South Africa
Once she arrived in England Claudia attended colour and cutting courses with The Sassoon Academy in London.
Cutting and colouring courses with Allilon. Including freehand balayage and becoming a Balayage expert with Davines.
Including 3D colouring (balayage , air touch and freehand) courses with Sal Misseri for Kaizen education. Also working backstage with Sal Misseri.
Became a Master Colour Expert with Davines.
Claudia has worked as part of the backstage team doing colour preparation for Allilon shows too!
Since being in England Claudia has done haircuts on models on stage twice, for Artero hair equipment , at salon international as a guest artist.
Inspiration – Nature, art , education.
Tip – find a job you love doing and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
Frank
Creative Cutter Level 4 and Level 2 Colour Director
After Frank completed his apprenticeship with us he has been on the salon floor for 10 years and has achieved great things both with Wella and Sassoons whilst working to build a loyal client base. He is very passionate about hair cutting and people love his personality and smiley face.
“I do a lot of creative and bespoke haircuts which suit the individual client, in a manner which is easy for them to do themselves and to make them look their personal best. These days people watch Youtube and its all about styling the hair for a night out but with a professional hair cut which is made for you it should speak for itself and give you the confidence to be your self”.

Lucy
Creative Cutter Level 3 and Level 2 Colour Director
Lucy joined us Christmas 2019 after being at another city salon for three years. Since joining us she is quickly building a loyal client base as she is awesome at colour and haircuts especially after having been on two Sassoon Academy courses.
Specialising in Crazy Colours.
The future looks bright for Lucy and you will love her. She works with us full time and has Monday’s off.

Amy
Creative Cutter Level 1 and Level 2 Colour Director
Amy has been Hairdressing for 15 years and was originally trained at Toni and Guy. She has attended numerous Colour courses over the years and specialises in Balayage placement and Colouring. In October 2019 Amy had a little girl called Freya and in 2022 she had a little boy called Odi.
Since joining us in March 2020 Amy’s existing clients have found her again and her client base is growing quickly. She actively helps the rest of the team with their Balayage techniques and shares her knowledge.
Amy is a real perfectionist and is a lovely fun personality to have around.

Tip – “The only way to do great work is to love what you do”.
Lauren
Level 3 Creative Cutter and Level 2 Colour Director
Lauren has always had a passion for doing hair in her spare time for friends and family. In 2020, she made the decision to retrain and pursue a career in the hair industry and completed an evening course to qualify for a Level 3 VRQ in hairdressing.
In 2022 Lauren went on the salon floor to start building her client base. She is growing in confidence and skills following training sessions with Barry and very much looking forward to attending the Sassoon Academy this year.
Inspiration – Beauty, colour, personality.
Tip – “Stay positive, work hard, make it happen”.
Evie
Creative Cutter Level 2 and Level 2 Colour Director
Evie joined us in 2021 as our assistant while she was completing her training at College. She qualified in June 2022 and loves highlighting and balayage in particular.
Evie trained on the ABC cutting course in January 2023 at Sassoons and has been working on the salon floor to build her client base.
Inspiration – latest fashion trends, beach waves and changing your look for the seasons.
Tip – “Embrace your hair – it’s your crowning glory”.
Leann
Creative Cutter Level 2 and Level 2 Colour Director
Leann has 6 years experience as a hairdresser doing Haircutting and Colouring. She specialises in Vintage Hair ups and Wedding Hair. Perfect for a special event either working at the salon or she can travel to your venue. Offering something new to Barry Alan. Working full time with Thursdays off and every other Saturday.
Inspiration – 40s and 50s, vintage fashion, colour, music and film.
Tip – To feel motivation, you have to get motivated! & Believe in yourself and never give up.
Dulcie
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
Dulcie joined our team in 2023 and after qualifying at college she has spent a year training in house with Barry and the rest of the team growing her knowledge and skills in both haircutting and colouring.
At the end of November 2024 she will attending a weeks haircutting training in London at the Sassoon Academy. Dulcie is now on the salon floor building her own client base.

Tip – your potential is endless.
Frankie
Creative Cutter Level 1 And Level 1 Colour Director
Frankie joined us in 2023 and after qualifying at college she has spent a year training in house with Barry and the rest of the team growing her knowledge and skills in both haircutting and colouring.
She is very much looking forward to the end of November 2024 when she will be attending a weeks haircutting training in London at the Sassoon Academy. Frankie is now on the salon floor growing her own customer base.

Faith
Salon Assistant
Faith joined us in the Summer of 2024 after qualifying in hairdressing at college.
Faith is starting on her journey with ongoing training to learn new skills both in colouring and haircutting and looking forward to attending a week haircutting course at the Sassoon Academy in London at the end of November 2024.
We are looking forward to watching Faiths journey in her chosen career.

Beth
Social media and Marketing Manager
Beth is our PR and social media manager.
Beth’s history is in the beauty industry where she owned her own business. She is committed to pushing the brand forward through using all the social media platforms. Beth has now started writing monthly Blogs for our website and Newsletters to our email subscribers.
She also organises Wedding hair packages for us to come out to you on your special day.
